Merry-go-round
Merry-go-round—governments lock the gates tightstill, the children laugh. When it comes to writing, it’s never too late to start something new. This is not a traditional haiku but a senryu, which is usually more urban in nature, characterised by social commentary and satire. I suppose this sets the tone for my New Year endeavours.
