If there is one quote that summarises my life, then it is this. There may be others too but I picked this one from Jhumpa Lahiri’s novel In altre parole that I am now reading. After just a couple of short chapters I can say that it is not just Tabucchi’s words but also Lahiri’s approach to writing and language (in her case Italian) that strike a chord, and for many reasons. I hope I will be able to elaborate this in my journal over the coming summer.
