Scanning glass negatives – part one

These dry plates have been through a lot and they are in even worse shape that I had imagined with finger prints, scratches and holes. Sometimes it is impossible to save the contrast to see the faces of the persons photographed. But it is as fascinating as always to peek into the past, and imagine another era in strange lands. Brief encounters in front of the camera, then forgotten in dusty cardboard boxes for decades.
